This 3-day Safari will take you to Uganda’s frequently visited National Park- The Queen Elizabeth National Park; covering an area 1,978 sq.km and found west of Uganda, it is approximately 376 km from Kampala. The park is classified with various ecologies such as the stunning lakes, the Kazinga channel, widespread savannah, tropical forests and the lush wetlands.

The park is sanctuary to about 100 species of mammals, about 606 species: you will be able to see massive number of antelopes, hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and elephants among others while on the game drive and the boat cruise on the Kazinga channel that bisects the park. The park is also home to the climbing lions found in the Ishasha Sector, Chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge and also in the Maramagambo forest, various monkeys and birds.

Itinerary

Get up early and enjoy the morning breakfast from the hotel. Pickup by your guide after at around 7:30 am who will then give you a brief before embarking on the 6-hour journey to the Queen Elizabeth. Along the way, there will be a number of stopovers at the Equator where you will take plenty photographs and for lunch at the Agip Motel in Mbarara town.

Proceed to the park thereafter as you drive through the remarkable landscape characterized with uncluttered grasslands, ankole long horned cattle, the Rift valley Escarpment, tea plantations and several woodlands. Get to the park late in the afternoon and enjoy a game drive as you head towards your lodge. Have dinner there and there spend a night.

Start your day with a delightful cup of tea/coffee before proceeding with the game drive on the different trails in the park inclusive of the Kasenyi trail.

While on the Kasenyi trail, there is a great chance of seeing numerous wildlife like the water bucks, the Ugandan Kobs, the elephants, buffaloes, the lions and warthogs as well as the various bird species. After the drive, head back and enjoy your breakfast and lunch as well from your lodge.

Later in the afternoon take pleasure while cruising on a 2-hour boat safari on the Kazinga channel which connects Lake George and Lake Edward. While on this boat you will get to see a great amount of wildlife like the crocodiles, buffaloes, hippos, warthogs, elephant and the Kobs. Among others is a collection of birds including the malachite kingfisher and the pink backed pelicans. Head back, have dinner and an overnight.

With the splendid memories from the past two days, you will enjoy a hefty and scrumptious breakfast then check out of your lodge. You could choose to have a primate walk or not. Enjoy your lunch along the way and have a stopover at the Mpambire drum centre. Here you will see how drums are locally made and also be in position to purchase souvenirs. Proceed to Kampala where you are to be dropped off at your hotel later in the evening.
