Online Visa Application Process

The easiest and fastest way to apply for a visa to visit Uganda is through the online Immigration portal. The online visa application process involves the following steps:

  1. Log into the Immigration portal and select start new application.
  2. Accept the terms and conditions displayed in the Disclaimer.
  3. Select the visa type, category and sub category that suits your purpose of travel. For example, if you are coming for tourism, you can choose Uganda Tourist Visa – Single entry.
  4. Complete the application form with your personal details, passport information, travel itinerary, contact details, and any other required information.
  5. Upload the required documents, such as passport copy, recent passport-size photograph, vaccination certificate (yellow fever), letter of invitation (if applicable), etc. The documents should be in English and in PDF or JPEG format.
  6. Make payment for the visa fee using a credit card or debit card. The visa fee is USD 50 for a single-entry tourist visa. Visa fees are non-refundable and all payments are subject to a bank charge.
  7. Upon approval, receive an approval letter by email. You should print it out and bring it with you when you travel to Uganda.
  8. Report to the immigration office or border point for biometric capture with all the documents you uploaded, payment receipts, approval letter and passport then receive a visa sticker on your passport.

The online visa application process can take up to 3 working days for approval. You should apply for your visa at least two weeks before your intended date of travel.
